3 Festival Hairstyles Featuring Extensions to Try This Summer

05/11/2022

Coachella may have already come and gone, but festival season is now in full swing! And, as much as we all love experiencing the incredible performances that come with it, we must admit that seeing everyone’s dazzling hairstyles (and epic festival fashion) is one of the most thrilling parts of going to Bonnaroo, Governors Ball, Lollapalooza, or any of the other festivals.

If you share our sentiments, you’ll definitely want to take a look at these gorgeous festival hairstyles that  Paul Rus , stylist partner at Irresistible Me Hair Extensions, dreamed up for us using the brand’s clip-in ponytail extensions

According to Rus, ponytails are the ideal style to sport when you’re hitting the festival circuit. “They look cool, can be styled in oh so many ways, and most importantly, they won’t stick to your neck and/or back while you dance the night away,” he said. “Ponies are the “it” spring/summer accessory and Irresistible Me has a wide variety of color, length, and texture so you can try as many hairstyles as you can think of!”

Ahead, 3 eye-catching hairstyles that are sure to turn heads this festival season.

Braided Ponytail

Get the Look:

To achieve this look, begin by parting the hair down the middle, in two equal parts. Next, clip in the pink highlights at the front, close to the parting. After that, you’ll start braiding the hair, including the pink clip-in and making sure that the highlights are on top of the braid for the effect. After you finish braiding, secure the ends with an elastic band. Then, repeat it on the other side of the hair, exactly the same.

Take two ponytail extensions—like Irresistible Me’s new curly ponies—and attach the ponytail around the end of each braid, securing it with the textile bands. Select a strand of hair and wrap it around the base of each pony to cover the fabric base.

Pro Tip: If you think the textile strip is too long, curl them, and adjust the length to your pony width.

Space Buns

Get the Look:

To achieve this look, make sure the hair is parted in the middle equally from the front to the back. Next, clip the pink highlight in the front, below some of your hair to hide the clips. Then, put each side up in a ponytail and secure it with an elastic band.

For the space buns, you will need two ponytail extensions. Start by wrapping the clip in a pony on each pigtail created in step1 and secure with ties. After that, take a small piece of hair and wrap it around the base of the pony to cover the textile band. Next, twist each pony into a loose bun and secure the hair with bobby pins. Repeat on the other side.

Pro Tip: Try to braid the ponytail extension for an added effect and then make the buns.

Half Up with Bubble Braids

Get the Look:

To achieve this look, you’ll want to begin by creating more volume by curling the hair in a nice beach wave or loose curl. Next, put the top part of the hair up in a ponytail and clip in a volumizing weft on the bottom half to get more hair for the half up, half down style.

After that, clip in the pink highlights at the front of the head, leaving some of the hair to cover up the clips. Then, start making the bubble braid by taking a medium amount of hair and tying it with an elastic band every 2-3 inches. After putting in all the elastic ties, pull your hair above each band to create a bubble effect.

Next, add a clip-in ponytail to the one you created at step 1 and cover the textile band with a strand of hair. After the ponytail is added, braid it and twist the hair in a bun to create a top knot, and secure it in place with bobby pins.

Pro Tip: When you do the bubble braids, make sure not to cover the pink highlights. If you want the braids to be more visible, create smaller bubbles of hair.
