Just putting it out there: Ethan Slater has swagger. The ‘Wicked’ star hit the 2025 SAG Awards red carpet looking like an old school movie star thanks to a classic tux and effortless hair. The kind of perfectly piecey hair with body that, of course, took a minute, as we all know, but doesn’t look it — at all. Slater has celebrity men’s groomer and hairstylist, Andrea Pezzillo, to thank.
The Tease got in touch with Pezzillo who very graciously shared everything you need to know about Slater’s red carpet curly hairstyle. We’re talking inspo and styling advice!
Pezzillo says, “The look I was going for was a slightly tousled, curly style that has dimension, texture and movement.” She adds, “under bright lights on a red carpet, I like to make sure that I create volume and dimension with the hairstyle.” Read on for Pezzillo’s tips to recreate it this look.
Get the Look:
- “Start with wet hair — not semi wet or towel dried — I mean evenly wet hair. Apply a foundation product, like a lightweight styling cream, to prep and add hold.
- Next, use a curl product to define and set your curls. I prefer a styling foam, it enhances curls without weighing them down.
- Scrunch the hair and twist any curls into place.
- Dry the hair using a diffuser attachment on low air and medium heat to prevent frizz and keep the curls definition.
- Once the hair is dry, finish with a dry flexible hairspray, to lock in the look without adding too much shine or buildup.
