These days everybody wants to start a business. Take every new celebrity brand that has popped up over the years as an example. But not every brand lasts and that is because, “you cannot just do a business because you have an idea, you have to have something that is out of the box, disruptive and desirable.”
Say less, Frédéric Fekkai.
Frédéric Fekkai, Founder of FEKKAI and celebrity hairstylist, had a fruitful career before he started FEKKAI, but he found there was something missing. With the original founding of FEKKAI in 1995, Frédéric not only founded his brand but he also disrupted haircare by founding a whole category in hair, the prestige hair category. Once he re-acquired his namesake brand in 2018, he relaunched the brand in a new and desirable way by making formulas that were not only high performing but clean products. Every step along the way for Frédéric has been ground breaking and out of the box. Seems like someone we want to be taking advice from.
Well we are in luck because Frédéric Fekkai has joined Volume Up by The Tease to talk about his journey (with a story about styling, former first lady, Hillary Clinton’s hair), the presence of luck along the way, his new formulations and upcoming projects as well as trends, education and MORE. This episode has tip after tip of advice and knowledge that you are going to want to hear.

“It’s not just a few people who are lucky. We all are. It really depends on how we seize that luck when it comes and you have to catch it or if you don’t then you just missed your opportunity.”
“First of all, I love trends. But one thing very important is not to be, how would I say, dependent on trends. You need to be independent from trends. As you said, it’s better to create them then just follow them.”
“You know being successful is being generous. In my opinion, I want to make sure that I’m offering every tips, every advice I can to make sure that everybody can excel at what they do.”
