Doja Cat’s Monochromatic Met Gala ’26 Moment Extends to Her Waves

05/04/2026

We love a monochromatic moment and so does singer Doja Cat, apparently. For this year’s controversial Met Gala, everything was nude — we’re talking gown, glam, nails and, you guessed it, hair.

Working with longtime collaborator, JSTAYReady — who exclusively used RED hot tools, Vivace by Kiss hair extensions and KISS Colors & Care styling products for this evening’s look — the plan was always to connect all elements. He tells The Tease, “Based on her nude/illusion latex gown I wanted the hair to match in tone to give an overall monochromatic feel.”

Read on for a detailed breakdown.

  1. “I prepped Doja’s natural hair for her wig install by first blow drying her curls straight with the RED Soni-Clone Hair Dryer ($99.99) and then braiding the hair back into cornrows. I then applied the Kiss Colors & Care Rosemary and Mint Multivitamin Oil ($4.49) on her scalp for maximum hydration underneath her wig.
  2. I toned Vivace G-Clef #613 Blonde Bundles to a level 8 and glued the extensions into a full lace wig with quick-dry hair glue for volume and fullness.
  3. I applied the wig using Kiss Colors & Care Lace Bond Extreme Hold ($11.99) and used the RED Ultra Thin 3/10″ Pencil Flat Iron ($24.99) to flatten the top.
  4. I created long layers and then added texture by using a large wave iron.
  5. After styling was complete, I used the Heat Protector Wax Stick ($10.49) to tame fly-aways before she walked to the carpet.”
