Hairstylist Kim Kimble Used These UNITE Products to Style Jasmine Tookes’ Sculptural Retro Waves for the 2025 Met Gala

05/07/2025

We can always count on Jasmine Tookes to serve an ultra-chic look—and she did just that at the 2025 Met Gala.

The supermodel came dressed to impress in a tailored white suit, which featured an asymmetric cape, that was designed by Oscar-winning costume designer Ruth Carter. Her look was fully inspired by 1930’s Harlem glamour as were her glossy, sculptural waves that came courtesy of hairstylist Kim Kimble.

Speaking on Tookes’ retro-inspired hair, Kimble said, “This year’s theme for the Met Gala was inspired by Harlem Renaissance and Black dandyism. I absolutely loved working with Jasmine and I exclusively used all UNITE products for her look. Everything really came together and she looked beautiful.”

The Tease got all the details straight from Kimble on how she created Tookes’ beautiful waves—including the exact UNITE products she used for the look. Keep scrolling for her styling breakdown.

Get the Look:

  1. Kimble prepped Tookes’ damp hair with UNITE 7SECONDS Detangler, ($40.50) to create a tangle-free base, followed by UNITE BOOSTA Volumizing Spray, ($35.50) to add weightless body and fullness.
  2. Next, she applied UNITE 7SECONDS BlowOut Creme, ($36.00) from the mids to ends to seal in moisture, control frizz, plus, add shine and thermal protection before blowing out the hair. This lightweight styling creme adds the perfect amount of slip that allows the brush to easily glide through the hair when blow drying.
  3. Once Tookes’ hair was fully dry, Kimble cured the hair using a nickel-size BabylissPRO iron, and then sculpted the waves to frame the face. I then brushed out the curls and applied UNITE U Oil, ($53.00) to my hands and gently glided over the hair to silken her strands and add long-lasting shine.
  4. To finish the look, Kimble used 7SECONDS Glossing Spray, ($38.50) to tame flyaways and add shine, and UNITE GO365 Hairspray, ($39.00) for soft-to-medium hold.
