Putting a playful spin on the minimalistic aesthetic, KHAITE FW23 show left a lasting impression on its audience. The New York-based fashion brand, led by Catherine Holstein, took full charge of one of NYFW’s emerging trends: stripped down tailoring. Unlike last season’s show which was filled with frills and embellishments, Holstein made sure that there was no use of silk fringe, diamanté trim, snakeskin prints and absolutely no polka dots in this season’s collection. Needless to say, we are here for it.

KHAITE stands for both designer Cate Holstein’s nickname and the Greek term meaning long flowing hair. In contrast to the brand’s name, the hair did not flow in this season’s show but rather held a sleek structure as almost all of the models sported a slicked back stick-straight look.
Legendary Celebrity Hairstylist, Guido Palau created the hair look for the KHAITE FW23 show using Wella Professionals products. During NYFW, it is common for models to suffer from hair damage due to quick changes that come with doing back-to-back shows. Guido, as he is known, was mindful of this in his approach to the KHAITE runway hair.
“Models are coming directly from other shows during NYFW and I really like to start with a great base – a great shampoo and conditioner. The Wella line is perfect for that – we got a shampoo station backstage where we shampoo and condition, then go in with their new serum – a caring product that you put in as a final step. It seals everything in while giving hair love and care that these girls need after all the things their hair goes through,” said Guido Palau.
Wella Professionals previewed their new transformational product backstage. Launching at Ulta in April, the new launch works to repair hair damage in just 90 seconds, allowing models more than enough time to treat their hair and still make it to their next call time.
