The Monthly Edit

11/05/2021

As beauty editors, we’re always discovering and trying out fun, new products. While not every hair oil, lipstick, or serum becomes a favorite, the ones that do definitely deserved to be shared with our fellow hair and beauty lovers (i.e. YOU!).

Each month, we’ll be highlighting the products that our editors can’t and won’t stop talking about. Below, see their top picks for the month of October.

Marc Jacobs Beauty Eye-conic Multi-Finish Eye Palette in Cherrific

“I’m not usually one to splurge on eye shadow, but as soon as I saw that Marc Jacobs had released a cherry-inspired palette, I just knew that I had to add this beauty to my collection. I’m a sucker for pretty packaging and its mint green case with cherry detailing is simply adorable! Plus, I love the combination of matte and shimmery pink and berry tones that are featured in this palette. All of the shadows go on super smooth, blend like a dream, and are super pigmented. I honestly don’t know what I’m going to do once I hit pan on all the colors because not only is this palette limited-edition, but Marc Jacobs has discontinued their beauty line (R.I.P).” — Camille Nzengung, hair features editor

Lunatude Minerals Luminating Face Palette

“This palette has been my go-to palette for any and every makeup look. The cream consistency allows for easy blending and you can easily build the product. I love the dewey, fresh face look it gives me. The best part: I have my blush, contour, highlight, eyeshadow and lip color all in one.”— Madeline Hickey, editorial assistant

Olivia Garden Smooth & Shine Styler OG Brush

“Full disclosure: I don’t have a lot of hair. But I have a scalp… And this combo boar bristle brush feels incredible on my scalp. Incredible! Also, it really delivers on the smoothing. Perfect for making my bedhead presentable for zoom. BONUS: The cushion is removable so you can pop it out and clean the entire brush. No sloshing if you use it on wet hair.” — Jeffrey Lunnen, VP of Digital Content

ColourPop BFF Liquid Liner in Numero Uno

“Some people are naturally blessed with the ability to draw flawless winged eyeliner practically every single time—I’m not one of them. Most days, my cat eye attempts end up being an utter failure. However, ever since I started using this liquid liner from ColourPop, my winged eyeliner game has improved tremendously. Not only is this liner super easy to use and affordable, but it has the most precise felt tip that makes doing a really sharp wing a total breeze. Best of all, it stays on all day long without smudging!” — C.N.

Simple Kind to Skin Moisturizing Facial Wash

“This has been my favorite face wash for a long time, but with the colder months coming I am reminded why I love it so much. This face wash cleans without stripping and feels so soft on the skin. Being a vegan and cruelty-free face wash is just the cherry on top.” — M.H

Lex Pott Twist Duo Standing Taper Candle

“When it comes to my interior design style, I tend to lean towards more colorful and funky pieces — think pink seashell shaped chairs, bright checkerboard rugs, and a literal cloud-shaped couch. So, when I saw these cool, twisted candles by Netherlands-based designer Lex Pott  popping up on all of my favorite influencers’ IG feeds, I just knew I had to get my hands on one for my apartment. While they come in a rainbow assortment of colors, I’m partial to the hot pink one. I love the whimsical touch that it brings to my living room!” — C.N.
