The Must-See Hair Moments From SS22 Paris Haute Couture Week

02/01/2022

Season after season, we can always count on Paris Haute Couture Week to bring next-level hair inspo. When you have beautifully crafted bespoke gowns being shown on the runway, it’s only fitting that the hair looks would be just as grand, right?

For this year’s spring and summer season, a number of couture shows offered up a heavy dose of escapism when it came to hair, opting for highly sculpted hairstyles with a space-age touch. Others, instead looked towards celebrating beauty in all its form and took the opportunity to showcase hair styling that is more individualistic.

Below, we’ve shared a few of our favorite hair moments from Paris Haute Couture Week’s Spring 2022 shows that you absolutely need to see.

Schiaparelli: Futuristic Beehives

Schiaparelli took us all to outer space with their otherworldly hair looks that perfectly complemented the sci-fi inspired collection. For the runway show, hairstylist Guido Palau dreamed up beautiful conical beehives for all the models that were futuristic but with a high fashion twist.

Valentino: Gray Hair

Silvery strands took center stage at Valentino with a slew of gray-hair beauties — Kristen McMenamy and Hannelore Knuts, most notably — hitting the catwalk. For the hair styling, hairstylist Guido Palau focused on celebrating individuality by opting for a mix of styles ranging from middle parts and fringe to slick updos.

Alexandre Vauthier: Cool Girl Hair

Hairstylist Sam McKnight gave us all a lesson in cool girl hairstyling over at the Alexandre Vauthier show. “Today’s sort of a modern natural grunge. It’s very individua l —making the best of each girl’s own hair,” McKnight shared in an Instagram post. “Just making their hair look great.” This translated to a mix of effortlessly cool styles for all the models, from tousled waves to straight-back braids and flipped under bobs.

Fendi: Slick Hair

At Fendi, hairstylist Guido Palau was responsible for the oil-slick hair that debuted on the runway. According to Vogue, Palau looked to both the past and and the future when crafting  these high shine, cropped hair looks for the show.
