Well if you are not “exfoliating” your scalp, that skin can build up on your scalp. Making it harder for your products to penetrate your scalp, which can leave your hair looking dull. Scalp exfoliation is not just for people that have dandruff, everyone can benefit from this! Fresh skin on your scalp makes for fresh, healthy hair. Excess oil on your scalp can cause hair thinning, exfoliating your scalp can help prevent that. Here are a few ways you can exfoliate your scalp!
Scalp Treatments in a salon! This will include your stylist gently scrubbing your scalp with a brush to loosen the dead skin, then they will wash to remove the flakes away, then finish with an oil treatment on the scalp. Leaving it clean and nourished. These treatments can usually be added on to your already existing hair appointment and are also super relaxing. On a side note, if you are one of those people that likes watching the pimple popper videos, then these two Instagram clips below will be right up your alley!
Here’s a new at home product to try! Some major hair brands are coming out with scalp scrubs this season! Oribe just released a new product in their Serene Scalp line, an exfoliating scrub for your scalp. This scrub gently exfoliates your scalp with exfoliating beads to remove oil, dirt and product buildup. It contains a blend of alpha hydroxy acids and fruit extracts that help to cleanse the pores on your head and nourish your hair. Your scalp is left primed and purified. They recommend using this product before you shampoo, on wet hair weekly.
A few other lines that have some great scalp products are: Briogeo has a line called Scalp Revival that contains charcoal and coconut oil. And IGK Hair has a cleansing Walnut Scalp Scrub product.
