Keri Russell’s 2025 SAG Awards red carpet hairstyle was everything. Big as all get out, with an organic shape that felt intentional but unbothered. We have celebrity hairstylist Brian Magallones to thank.
Magallones explains, “for the 2025 SAG Awards, Keri wore a beautiful sexy black Zuhair Murad dress. The dress had such a sleek, classic look, but I wanted to bring Brooklyn to Hollywood and give it a modern edge, so I decided to keep her hair down with a simple, tousled wave, going for healthy hair with lots of fullness and movement.” He tells The Tease, “The look I was going for was effortless, not fussy at all.”
A pro-tip from directly from Magallones: “For fullness and volume, I always start with freshly shampooed and conditioned hair. Day old or dirty hair does nothing but weigh hair down. For full, voluminous hair, it’s best to use products that do not have any silicone, as it will only weigh hair down and make it appear greasy, especially with fine hair.”

- “Although Keri has a ton of hair, the individual strands are fine, which makes hair heavy and can make it look flat. Living Proof’s Full Shampoo’s silicone-free formula was the perfect way to start to get fresh, clean hair as the foundation to the style.
- After shampooing, I used the Living Proof Full Conditioner, which helped to soften and detangle her hair, and the silicone free formula kept it from weighing her hair down.
- The next step was to blow dry Keri’s naturally very curly hair straight. I ran a nickel sized amount of the Living Proof Full Thickening Blow-Dry Cream through her damp hair, and dried it using a large round bristle brush to smooth out the cuticle, and it really made her hair shine with lots of thickness and volume.
- After blow drying her curly hair straight, I used a 1 1/2 barrel curling iron to give her hair a light wave. I took 2-inch sections of hair and wound them around the curling iron, and as I went along, I lightly sprayed Living Proof Flex Hairspray on each section to give it some hold.
- After curling her hair, I lightly sprayed Living Proof Dry Volume Texture Spray throughout her hair and shook out the waves out to give it a tousled, sexy vibe.
- Next, I rubbed a drop of the Living Proof
frizzVanishing Oil between my palms and lightly ran my fingers through her hair to prevent frizz and give it a beautiful shine. - The finishing touch was to hold it all in place with a good blast of Living Proof Flex Hairspray to hold her hairstyle in place all night long, while still giving fullness and movement.”
