THE SHATTERED RAINBOW

03/20/2018

We’re not gonna lie, we’ve seen A LOT of rainbow locks in the past year – so much so that we just almost stop gawking. But time and time again you Salon Pros find a way to keep us shamelessly coming back for more.

Alexis Nichole, Virginia-based hairstylist, developed a hair coloring technique that makes us wonder what the rainbow hair world was like prior to its creation. Alexis calls her style “Shattered Rainbow” and if it wasn’t already beautiful enough, check it out in blacklight.

?Shattered rainbow ? So …. I did something rad today and I hope you all like it as much as i do ? and if not well shit … hopefully next time you will !! ? ? ????? This is all @pulpriothair neons and she was lightened using #blondeaf with 20 vol ? Makeup by the wonderful @alexxadesire shes the ? bees knees seriously check her out!! Also id like to give a giant shoutout to my friend/model @clairebeareilly for letting me do whatever I WANT!!! ??? And a huge thank you goes to my @rubydevine because if it wasnt for her i wouldnt have the knowledge that i have today to be able to make beautiful art in someone’s hair ?#nonewfriends ? . . . #neonelectric5000 #mermaid #shineline #dmvstylist #hairart #hair #4thofjuly

This color mastermind achieves the look using Pulp Riot – first lightening with BlondeAF and then creating the shattered rainbow effect with a series of neons. The result gives an illusion of pixilation – similar to the digital-esque locks we were lovin’ on earlier this year by @phildoeshair. Clearly, we’re not over it.

In all seriousness, Shattered Rainbow coloring deserves every ounce of attention it’s getting. Salon Pros, take note.
