6 Latinx Creatives Share Their Favorite Haircare Products

10/13/2022

When it comes to hair, Latinxs certainly know a thing or two about caring for different kinds of strands. When you’re part of a community that spans more than 20 unique countries and includes a variety of hair textures (straight, wavy, curly, coily, kinky, and everything in between), how could you not? It also doesn’t hurt that Latinas, as a group, are quite the spending powerhouse when it comes to beauty products. So, you already know that they’re going to have some of the best intel on the hair buys that are totally worth it.

That’s why in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month (also known as Latinx and Latino Heritage Month), we spoke to six social media creators, creatives, and influencers with Latina roots about the holy grail hair products that help them to embrace their beautiful natural hair texture. Here’s what they say keeps their curls, kinks, and waves looking so good!

“One of my favorite hair products is the deep conditioner from Rizos Curls. I have found that it moisturizes my curls without weighing them down, and my hair feels so soft and luscious afterwards. Their citrus coconut scent is so refreshing and leaves me feeling ready to go. To top all of that off, they are a Latina-owned business and as a first-gen Latina immigrant myself, I love to support my community whenever it is possible.”

Bomba helps me embrace my natural hair texture by offering products that keep my hair moisturized and healthy, offering a safe space for everyone to embrace who they are, and showing the beauty of diversity in our community.”

“One of my favorite hair products is Biosilk Silk Therapy Original. I have straight/wavy hair depending on the day. I love how it smoothes and nourishes my hair. It also smells really great and a little bit of product goes a long way.”

“My favorite product would have to be the Rizos Curl Light Hold Gel. This gel not only makes my curls soft, something not a lot of other gels do, but it also gives my curls the right amount of hold needed and can take me all the way to day 3 curls!! It’s a gel with quality ingredients and being Latina-owned makes it all that more special.”

“One of my favorite hair products has to be the Adwoa Beauty Baomint Deep Conditioning Treatment! Its minty sensation when applied on my hair feels so amazing, so refreshing. The Baomint ingredients also help stimulate hair growth. It’s bomb! Another one of my favorite masks is the Bomba Curls Dominican Forbidden Hair Mask! It’s awesome for so many different hair types. Formulated with Dominican native beauty secrets, this mask is deeply nourishing and hydrating on the hair while strengthening and restoring as well.”

“Leave-in conditioner should be a staple, always. I love to use the Ghost Prep by VERB because it’s also a heat protectant. This leave-in is also very light which is great for prepping the hair before your styling products or curl creams. The Moon Potion by Little Thrills & Co. is an oil that can be used to detangle your hair and support your scalp before styling. The main ingredients are argan and rosemary oils that can help moisturize your scalp, ends, and tame your frizz! This product can also be used on dry or second day hair to refresh your mane. This combo is sure to set you up for success with your textured hair!”

Shop: VERB Ghost Prep, $20.00 ; Little Thrills & Co. Moon Potion, $29.99
