Evanie Frausto on Bringing ‘Cinematic Volume’ to Sabrina Carpenter’s Coachella Hair

04/13/2026

For her headlining Coachella set, dubbed “Sabrinawood” no less, Sabrina Carpenter debuted a “Cinematic Volume Blowout” by celebrity hairstylist Evanie Frausto. The look was designed to mirror the scale, drama, and storytelling of her truly epic performance, which featured Will Ferrell and Susan Sarandon, among others.

Created using Redken products, Frausto tells The Tease, “Sabrina’s Coachella performance called for hair that felt as cinematic and captivating as the show itself. We wanted something voluminous, bouncy, and full of movement — yet still structured and intentional. The goal was to strike a balance between softness and control, creating a silhouette that felt timeless.”

Fans and observers of Carpenter will note that there was a bit of a departure in her look. Frausto clarifies, “We evolved her signature fringe by softly parting the bangs at the center, allowing them to frame the face in a more effortless, romantic way. The length was also adjusted to sit just past the collarbone, giving the overall shape a lighter, more dynamic feel.”

He adds, “The texture is key for this look — brushed out, airy, and touchable, with a polished bounce that holds its form under stage lighting while still moving naturally.”

Get the Look:

  1. “Start by applying Redken Root Lifter Volumizing Spray from roots through mid-lengths to create lift and support. Blow-dry the hair, then set it in rollers to build volume and shape.
  2. Once cooled, take the rollers down and brush through thoroughly. Mist with Redken Control Hairspray for a light, flexible hold. Refine the structure using a 1 1/4-inch iron, then allow the hair to cool completely while setting again with a soft veil of hairspray.
  3. After cooling, brush out once more and apply Redken Dry Texture Spray to create separation and airiness.
  4. Finish with a final set using Redken Max Hold Hairspray to lock in the shape while maintaining movement. The result is a classic, cinematic blowout—voluminous, refined, and built to move with Sabrina’s headlining Coachella performance.”
