Olympic Figure Skater, Gold Medalist, and hair god, Alysa Liu hit the 2026 Met Gala red carpet in custom Louis Vuitton, rocking her signature bold striped hair but in a surprisingly soft style. Well, softer.
Celebrity stylist Anh Co Tran created the hairstyle. He says, “We worked closely to keep the hair soft with a bit of an edge, while emphasizing a clean polish. The slight tuck behind the ears was an intentional detail that allowed the overall look to feel balanced and in harmony.”

Get the Look:
- Start by slightly damping the hair and apply three handfuls of Monochromatic Froth Blowout Foam and a pump of Milbon’s Smooth Luminous Bodifying Oil for fine hair
- Rough dry using the new Bio Ionic AeroGravity Featherlight Hair Dryer — apply the concentrator onto the dryer and smooth out the hair using a Wet Brush Original Detangler
- Once the hair is smooth and blown out, use the Bio Ionic Long Barrel 1.25” Curling Iron to create an outline for the waves
- Then follow that with the Bio Ionic Long Barrel 1” Curling Iron to smooth out and define the waves
- Seal each wave with Milbon Hairspray Number Seven
- If you have bangs, use the Bio Ionic 10X Styling Iron to detail the bangs and cut the bangs a little bit so they are out of your face
- Smooth the waves together using the Wet Brush frizz Free Detangler
- Tuck some pieces behind the ear, making sure to leave out the bangs and some side pieces
- Seal the look with Milbon Hairspray Number Seven and Spray Shine, smoothing down any flyaways or places that need extra hold
