Beauty Changes Lives Welcomes Four Visionary Leaders to Their Board of Directors

Beauty Changes Lives has a lot to celebrate this year! Not only is the non-profit organization marking its 10th anniversary of supporting beauty professionals, but they are also welcoming some exciting new faces to their board of directors. Beauty Changes Lives recently announced that they have added David Raccuglia, Janet Williams, Megan Murray, and Michael G. Tompkins as board members. With these four appointments, the organization is diversifying their board by bringing in experts in the international spa and wellness industry, barbering, consumer retail, and an expert in DEI education.

Janet Williams

Along with being the founder of Progressive Discoveries, LLC, Williams is a strategic consultant who takes a culturally intelligent approach to fostering Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEI-B) at work. She has deep roots in the beauty industry having served a number of years as the Director of a prominent Cosmetology and Esthiology school in Washington, DC. Not to mention, Williams is a Certified CQ & Unconscious Bia Facilitator through the Cultural Intelligence Center, serves as a member of the Cultural Intelligence Committee with the “Unite As One” Beauty Industry Think Tank, and is a member of the Professional Beauty Industry Compensation Study Think Tank.

David Raccuglia

A trained barber, salon owner, entrepreneur, professional photographer, creative director, and beauty industry executive, Raccuglia is perhaps best known for being the founder of American Crew — the leading men’s professional grooming brand which pioneered the modern men’s professional grooming industry. With his hands-on and creatively-driven leadership, the American Crew brand has been able to achieve an over 25-year success and growth track record.

Megan Murray

Murray is currently the Senior Director, Field Operations at Ulta Beauty. She has a proven track record of driving results for some of the world’s largest and most innovative retail organizations. Additionally, she has a 13+ year executive career trajectory building and managing multi-million-dollar, enterprise-wide programs with significant impact of tactical expansion, salon/store-level and national sales improvement, P&L management, recruiting, and team management. 

Michael G. Tompkins

Tompkins is a visionary leader in the luxury hospitality, healthcare, wellness, and spa industries that has led celebrated teams to success for over 25 years. He has held CEO positions with Miraval Resorts, Hilton Head Health, and PALM Health, a Past Chairman of the International Spa Association (ISPA) and executive positions with Canyon Ranch Health Resorts. And, he is a global keynote speaker with more than a dozen national and international engagements annually.Currently, Tompkins is a partner with Hutchinson Consulting, which is at the forefront of developing innovative spa/wellness brands. 

These new additions to Beauty Changes Lives’ board brings the reorganization of past members to new roles within the organization. Previous board members Winn Claybaugh and Reuben Carranza join CG Funk on the newly formed President’s Council. Steve Reiss and Mary Atherto have both taken on new roles as Marketing Committee Co-chairs.
