As clients step into 2026 with renewed intentions and self-care goals, one thing is clear: beauty is no longer just about what we see on the surface; it’s about what’s happening beneath it. Nutrafol is taking this philosophy to the next level. In the evolving connection of beauty and wellness, Nutrafol stands at the intersection of science and salon innovation, redefining hair wellness from the inside out. Grounded in science and powered by nature, Nutrafol has become the go-to partner for stylists who want to offer their clients more than a service, but an ongoing journey toward stronger, fuller, and healthier-looking hair. By addressing internal factors that impact hair growth and vitality, Nutrafol gives professionals the tools to lead this “new year, new you” reset with confidence, innovation, and results that speak for themselves.
Nutrafol offers a full spectrum of hair wellness products that target hair health from the inside out. Their core Nutraceutical supplements—Women, Women’s Vegan, Women’s Balance (45+), Postpartum, and Men—address root causes of thinning such as stress, hormones, aging, and nutrition. Complementing these are Hair Wellness Boosters, which provide targeted support for specific needs like stress management, cellular energy support, and hormone fluctuations. Finishing out their lineup with some topical products are the Scalp Care essentials, including shampoo, conditioner, serum, and exfoliating mask. These topical products were physician-formulated to support hair health. Together with the nutraceuticals, Nutrafol’s range creates a holistic routine for every stage and lifestyle.
In this exclusive Q&A with The Tease, we caught up with two powerhouse voices shaping the future of hair wellness alongside Nutrafol: Johnnell Theresa Nidoh and Carly Zanoni*.
Nidoh’s appreciation for beauty runs deep. Growing up in her mother’s salon, she went from sweeping floors to leading brand education and storytelling across the professional hair industry. Now, as Head of Pro Salon channel for Nutrafol, she’s championing a holistic approach to hair health, one that starts from within and is quickly becoming the new beauty standard.
Northern California native Zanoni has spent over 18 years in the industry, first behind the chair and now as a leading educator. Founder of Blonde Chronicles University, she’s built an empowering community of over 8,000 stylists and a combined online audience of more than 725,000 followers. Known for her approachable, confidence-building education, Zanoni helps stylists simplify their craft and trust themselves behind the chair.
Nidoh and Zanoni share insights into the evolving connection between hair wellness and salon success, revealing how stylists can inspire client confidence from the inside out this new year. Together, they’re helping stylists and clients alike see hair health and beauty itself in a whole new way with Nutrafol.
The Tease: Many stylists think of hair health as something topical. Why is it important for pros to start understanding the internal approach Nutrafol offers?
Johnnell Nidoh: Stylists have their hands in the hair, so the instinct is to treat what they see on the surface. But true hair health starts from within — what’s happening in the body shows up in the chair. If a stylist only focuses topically, they’re missing half the picture. Nutrafol bridges that gap by addressing root causes like stress, hormones, and nutrition. When stylists embrace the internal approach, they’re not just styling hair — they’re helping clients transform it long-term. That elevates them from service provider to trusted wellness partner.
Clients don’t often realize that their hair health is connected to scalp health. Hair shedding and thinning may be signaling that something else is going on in the body. How does Nutrafol support stylists who want to help their clients see meaningful change whether via products or education?
Nidoh: Stylists are often the first ones to notice early signs of thinning or shedding. Nutrafol gives them the tools and education to confidently start those conversations. Whether it’s through our physician-formulated supplements, scalp care products, or the ongoing education we provide, we empower stylists to connect the dots for their clients. It’s not just about selling a product — it’s about guiding clients toward meaningful change, healthier hair, and often, better overall well-being. That’s where stylists really step into their power.
Hair health has become such a priority in recent years. From your perspective, why do you think stylists should start talking about wellness and scalp care, not just cut and color, at the chair?
Carly Zanoni: Clients already trust us with their hair, so it makes sense they’d also open up about changes or struggles they’re noticing. When we bring wellness and scalp health into the conversation, it shows we care about more than just the cut, color or style — we care about their overall confidence. It’s also greatly to the client’s benefit to understand how wellness and scalp care really affect the overall health of their hair. They often fail to realize that the cut, color, style, extensions, etc. look better on healthier, fuller hair.
Nutrafol is rooted in science-backed ingredients. How can stylists use that knowledge to build trust with clients who are looking for results in 2026?
Nidoh: Stylists don’t have to be scientists — they just need to know they can stand behind Nutrafol with confidence. Clients trust evidence, and Nutrafol Hair Growth Nutraceuticals are clinically tested with real results. When a stylist says, “This is clinically tested to work, and I’ve seen the difference in my clients’ hair,” that combination of science and lived experience is powerful. It builds credibility, and it reassures clients they’re not wasting their time or money.
Stress, diet, and lifestyle often impact hair health, topics clients are already thinking about in January. How can stylists open up meaningful conversations that go beyond surface-level beauty?
Zanoni: January is when clients are already thinking about health resets, so it’s the perfect time to have your clients start thinking about the correlation between lifestyle and hair. I’ll say something like, ‘Have you noticed any changes lately with your hair? Maybe more shedding or dryness? Often your hair shows signs of what’s going on inside your body, so if you’re noticing that the topical products you’re using aren’t giving you the results that you want, it might be helpful to explore different options.’ That simple question often opens the door to deeper conversations about stress, nutrition, and routines that impact their hair.
For stylists, January often means a fresh focus on business goals. How can integrating Nutrafol into salon conversations support both client results and salon growth?
Zanoni: Stylists are always looking for ways to grow their business and make more money, but I notice this to especially be the case in January. Nutrafol fits perfectly into that. When clients see real improvements in their hair, they stay loyal and talk about it. Plus, it’s an easy add-on to conversations you’re already having about breakage, shedding, or growth, so it supports both client transformations and salon revenue.
As you think about your own “New Year, New You” routines, how does Nutrafol fit into your daily wellness practice?
Nidoh: For most of us, when we say, “New year, new me,” we mean that we will pursue self-improvement via self-help and self-control. Focus on Small, Consistent Actions: Starting with 4 a day is a great jumpstart to wellness from within. People want to incorporate Self-Care routines that rejuvenate you. Not only looking to have healthy, happy, thicker, fuller hair – but also address hormones, stress, metabolism, sleep. All factors help contribute to a jumpstart onto a new year.
A new year is a time when clients are focused on transformation. How does Nutrafol embody the “New Year, New You” promise for healthier hair from the inside out?
Zanoni: Nutrafol embodies “New Year, New You” by focusing on change from the inside out. It’s not just about masking hair issues with products — it’s about addressing key root causes like stress, hormones, or nutrition, so clients actually see healthier, stronger growth long term.
Johnnell, as someone leading Nutrafol’s salon channel, how do you envision Nutrafol becoming part of the “standard salon toolkit” moving forward?
Nidoh: For me, it’s simple. Nutrafol belongs right next to the blow dryer, the color brush, and the retail shelf. Every stylist is already in conversations about hair health, whether it’s thinning, shedding, or just overall vitality. My vision is that Nutrafol becomes the go-to product in those moments. It’s not a nice-to-have; it’s a must-have. Just like you wouldn’t send a client home without the right shampoo for their color, you shouldn’t send them home without support for their hair wellness from the inside out. That’s how we become part of the “standard salon toolkit,” by making Nutrafol essential, effortless, and aligned with the results every stylist wants for their clients.
Looking ahead, what role do you both see wellness and hair health playing in the evolution of the salon industry over the next five years?
Zanoni: We’re heading toward a more holistic salon experience. Clients don’t just want a cut and color anymore. They want to understand their hair, support its health, and feel cared for. Customer service will continue to be so important for beauty professionals, and offering an option to address their struggles fits into a great overall experience in the salon. Stylists who lean in now are going to be ahead of the curve.
