Celebrity Hairstylist Paul Perez Breaks Down the Biggest Bridal Hair Trends of the Season

07/01/2026

From soft waves and undone updos to face-framing layers that feel effortlessly romantic, bridal hair is moving away from overly polished styles in favor of looks that feel more natural, modern, and most importantly – personal. We caught up with celebrity hairstylist and co-owner of VIP hotspot Flore Salon, Paul Perez, to talk through the biggest bridal hair trends shaping this wedding summer season.

Having worked with talent including Kelly Wearstler and Janet Guzman, Perez has become a go-to bridal hair expert, and he’s sharing what brides are requesting most right now, the inspiration driving today’s trends, and how to create a style that lasts from the ceremony through the after-party without sacrificing movement or softness.

Catch our full conversation with Perez down below.

The Tease: What bridal hair trends are you seeing most right now?

Paul Perez: I’m seeing a lot more sleek, clean updos this season. Soft chignons and polished buns are definitely having a moment because they’re elegant, timeless, and photograph beautifully. I’m also seeing polished half-up styles that are pulled away from the face while still feeling soft, effortless, and full of shine. Another favorite is a polished blowout with soft roller-set volume. It has that effortless, luxurious feel while keeping the hair healthy, touchable, and glamorous. At the end of the day, my goal is simple: I want every bride to feel beautiful, comfortable, and confident. Creating hair that lasts all day is important, but creating a calm, effortless experience is just as important to me.

What’s driving these trends, and who are they best suited for?

Perez: Social media and celebrity weddings have a huge influence on what brides ask for. I constantly see inspiration photos of Sofia Richie Grainge’s elevated bridal bun or Dua Lipa’s soft, glamorous blowout. But I always tell my brides that inspiration is just the starting point. My job isn’t to copy a photo. It’s to create a version of that look that complements their face shape, hair texture, dress, and personal style. The best bridal hair should feel timeless, effortless, and most importantly, like the best version of you.

What are your expert tips for maintaining the look throughout the wedding day?

Perez: If it’s within your budget, having your hairstylist stay throughout the day is the best way to keep your hair polished and fresh from the ceremony to the last dance. If that’s not an option, great products make all the difference. I love Milbon Anti-Frizz Oil to keep the hair soft, hydrated, and smooth, followed by Kenra Shine Spray for a beautiful finish. For hold, I use a flexible hairspray for softer styles or Got2b Glued when I need a sleek bun to stay perfectly in place.
