At the 2025 Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles, Demi Moore debuted bouncy old Hollywood waves crafted by none other than celebrity hairstylist Dimitris Giannetos. The hairstylist said Studio 54 was the sole inspiration behind the free, brushed-through, flowy waves that complemented Moore’s purple Prada gown.
“I wanted to bring old Hollywood back, but as the most modern version,” Giannetos told The Tease. “Demi is always so fashion-forward and continues to inspire us. I wanted to create a beautiful, bouncy brushed-through Hollywood hair to complement the gown.”
The hair was not only visually striking. Giannetos made sure Moore’s hair left a trace of the Parfums de Marly Valaya Hair Perfume behind for just as interesting and irresistible a smell. The hair scent is a mix of floral-musky-woody fragrances with notes of bergamot, mandarin, and musk. Read on for a breakdown from Giannetos so you can get the Studio 54 vibe for your next client, or yourself!
Get the Look:
- Prep & Dry: Giannetos started with towel-dried hair and dried it with a round brush for smoothness and volume, obviously creating the waves as he went.
- Set & Cool: He then clipped the hair in sections and allowed it to cool for 30 minutes.
- Shape & Volume: He then removed the clips and let the waves down. He backcombed the root area lightly for lift and brushed the rest of the hair through, gently, to maintain a soft wave.
- Finish: Giannetos finished with a spritz of Parfums de Marly Valaya Hair Perfume for scent and shine.
