Dr. Bronner’s Calls Out ICE With Instagram Post

01/21/2026

If you are familiar with Dr. Bronner’s, the top-selling natural brand of soap in North America with the signature packaging, their recent Instagram post in response to what they say was the “extrajudicial killing of Renee Nicole Good” earlier this month in Minneapolis will come as no surprise. If you aren’t familiar with the brand, it may.

The company is an independent, family-owned business based in California, that makes no qualms about its commitment to making socially and environmentally responsible personal care and food products of the highest quality, or about furthering social justice, environmental sustainability, and ethical business practices. The post in question, a graphic designed image with text published on January 9th, says “Stop ICE’s attack on our communities now!” in plain, large font. It also includes the following: “Dr. Bronner’s unequivocally condemns ICE’s extrajudicial killing of Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis this week. We call on Congress to defund all Federal surge forces.”

In the post caption, the brand’s CEO, David Bronner is quoted, saying, “⁣This moment demands more than quiet concern. We need a chorus of voices saying enough is enough to compel lawmakers and the public to check an administration that is out of control. Ours is just one voice, but we won’t be silent.” ⁣ Bronner references the uptick in ICE enforcement efforts which has consumed Minnesota of late, with the President going so far as to suggest invoking the Insurrection Act as late as last week.

The post caption ends with a call to take action alongside the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU). Dr. Bronner’s is among the first in the beauty and personal care industry to speak out in this way.
