When it comes to hair care, Jared Reynolds isn’t your typical beauty entrepreneur. A trained physician with a deep background in biochemistry, Jared’s journey into the hair care world began not out of an interest in cosmetics, but from a personal struggle with hair loss and shedding.

Initially, Jared used medical school to help himself since conventional treatments for hair loss offered limited results and came with undesirable side effects. That’s when he realized the opportunity to approach hair and scalp health differently. He could use his resources and studies to create a formula that truly works for him. 

After five years of rigorous research, Jared Reynolds achieved Zenagen’s first commercial breakthrough. Plants offer a powerful advantage. In this episode of Volume Up by The Tease, Jared explains that molecules extracted from plants can be as effective as pharmaceutical drugs, sometimes even better, while being safer and more affordable. He has worked with Green Tea plant variants, “mutant plants,” and even recycling grape leaves in lab experiments to develop high-efficacy formulas. He directs three labs focusing on molecular research and formulation, while remaining actively involved in every step, from testing and refining formulas to observing client outcomes. He recalls being amazed when users share their success stories or when he spots his products in unexpected places, anywhere from salon shelves, airport run-ins, to celebrity stylists.

Jared also tackles common myths about hair care, such as the notion that frequent washing is harmful. For him, cleansing is about strategy: like washing your face with skincare products, a properly cared-for scalp using Zenagen is essential for healthy hair, and intentional hygiene is key.
