How Hairstylist Alexander Armand Created Quinta Brunson’s Flirty Half Up Half Down For the Vanity Fair Oscars After-Party

If you’re in need of hair inspiration for your next night out, we have a feeling you’ll want to recreate Quinta Brunson’s latest look.

The actress stepped out for Vanity Fair’s famous Oscar after-party on Sunday night sporting the flirtiest half-up half-down hairdo and naturally, we’re beyond obsessed! According to her hairstylist Alexander Armand, her dazzling hair look was fully inspired by her floral embellished Dolce & Gabbana gown.

“The hair was inspired by the chic, effortless stunning custom dress,” says Armand, who used Mielle Organic’s new Avocado & Tamanu Anti-Frizz System to create the look. “We wanted a sexy flirty hairstyle to complement the form-fitting silhouette.”

We were lucky enough to get the inside scoop from Armand on exactly how to create this stunning hairstyle. Keep scrolling for his step-by-step tips.

Get the Look:

  1. Armand first washed and conditioned her hair with the Mielle Organics Avocado & Tamanu Anti-Frizz Shampoo ($12.99) and Conditioner ($12.99). “It leaves hair feeling softer, shinier, and prepped for frizz-free styling,” he says.
  2. Once her hair was towel dried, he used the Avocado & Tamanu Anti-Frizz Slip & Seal Leave-In Conditioner ($12.99) and blow dried the product into her hair to help close the cuticles in place and help reduce frizz—leaving the hair shiny and soft!
  3. Then he used his refrigerated Avocado & Tamanu Anti-Frizz Stay Straight Serum ($12.99) to activate the Cold Application Technology to add a second layer of protection against frizz.
  4. Once the Stay Straight Serum was evenly distributed into her hair, he began flat ironing to achieve a sleek pulled up look in the front of her hair.
  5. Then, Armand added loose curls into the hair for a flirty look to complement her custom made embellished dress
  6. To finish, he added in a pea-size amount of the Avocado & Tamanu Anti-Frizz Stay Straight Serum ($12.99) after styling.
