The Dauphinette ss26 runway show was one of NYFW’s buzziest. The collection investigates the “side effects” of womanhood, incorporating their signature ephemeral and upcycled materials, and marking a pointed transition in the brand’s trajectory. Not to mention the ornamental beetles…
Oribe Principal Artist of Global Design, Mandee Tauber, used Oribe products to create an evolution of looks, beginning with structural, armor-like styles, and ending with freer, more ethereal styles.
Olivia Cheng, Dauphinette’s founder, says “we wanted the hair to reflect the tension within the collection — even as the Dauphinette woman frees herself, she wrestles between elongated, trapping braids and fully ‘liberated’ hairstyles.”

Get the Look:
- Begin by saturating roots to mid-lengths with Maximista Thickening Spray and rough-drying for lift and grit.
- Dust mid-lengths with light coating of Swept Up Volume Powder Spray for added texture and grip.
- Beginning at the crown, braid hair into a loose fishtail braid, securing ends with an elastic.
- Gently pinch and pull edges of the braid to expand and create ethereal irregularities.
- Mist lightly with Superfine Strong Hair Spray to set shape and add a distressed finish.
- Finish the look applying a small amount of Swept Up Volume Powder Spray to fingers and hand-teasing the end of the braid for added texture.
