Jacob Schwartz Breaks Down Bella Hadid’s Recent Sculpted Chignon Look

03/28/2026

We straight up can’t get supermodel and activist BellaΒ Hadid‘s chic af hairstyle from the 2026 Vanity Fair Oscar Party off our minds. Celebrity Hairstylist,Β Jacob Schwartz delivered a LOOK. Her updo was classic but still very much of the moment.

Schwartz says, “BellaΒ and I wanted to create a timeless, classic look for her Vanity Fair red carpet appearance. We decided to keep it sleek and snatched in the front, pairing it with the sculpted chignon in the back.” He teamed with BELLAMI to get the look, explaining, “BELLAMI Tape-In ExtensionsΒ andΒ Silk Seam Clip-in ExtensionsΒ come in the perfect color stories to add both dimension and volume to any updo or style.”

Read on for the exact steps Schwartz took to create this red carpet style. Save for your next client. Thank us later!

Get the Look:

  1. Prep the Hair for Volume
    • Start by applying a volumizing blow-dry spray throughout damp hair to build lift and structure at the roots. Work a small amount of Leave-In Conditioner and Hair Oil through the mid-lengths and ends to keep the hair smooth, hydrated, and glossy.
  2. Create a Smooth Base
    • Blow dry the hair using a flat brush to achieve a sleek, polished foundation while maintaining the natural shape. Once dry, lightly run a flat iron through the ends to refine the finish and ensure the hair looks ultra-smooth and camera ready.
  3. Sculpt the Snatched Ponytail
    • Brush the hair tightly back and secure it with a bunchie to create a lifted, snatched base. Place a hair tie over the bunchie to lock the ponytail firmly in place and ensure long-lasting hold.
  4. Add Dimension with Extensions
    • Wrap BELLAMI Tape-In Extensions around the ponytail in a circular motion to add fullness and length while keeping the installation discreet. Schwartz layered BELLAMI shades Dark Brown/Chestnut Brown and Bronde to create natural-looking depth and dimension.
  5. Shape the Chignon
    • Once the extensions are secured, twist and wrap the ponytail into a structured bun. Use hair pins to sculpt the shape into a polished chignon, tucking the ends neatly to create a clean, elevated finish.
