John Paul Mitchell Systems (JPMS), the leading manufacturer of professional haircare and color, is cementing its commitment to the betterment of people and the planet with a brand-new partnership. The professional haircare company has teamed up with Bees for Development, a non-profit organization focused on reducing poverty, building resilient livelihoods, and increasing biodiversity through sustainable beekeeping.
Along with the new partnership, JPMS has announced an extension of their popular Paul Mitchell the color line, with the all-new Cools Series. In case you didn’t know, Paul Mitchell’s permanent hair color line is formulated with beeswax, which plays a major role in helping its formula maintain its rich, creamy consistency that leaves hair feeling smooth and healthy.
To create its incredible formulas, JPMS sources the beeswax from West Africa, where bees can pollinate plants year-round, contributing to the area’s biodiversity and the upholding of their ecosystem. Not only is the beeswax sustainably sourced, but it’s also assisting local beekeepers in supporting their families and uplifting their communities.
Through its partnership with JPMS, Bees for Development will help transform the lives of over 200 Ugandan people with disabilities by educating and training their communities to achieve greater economic and social empowerment through beekeeping. According to Bees for Development, beekeeping allows income generation without destroying forest and other habitats. Currently, the organization has trained over 5,000 beekeepers.
