06/04/2024

For the first time in its 35 year history, the North American Hairstyling Awards (NAHA) came to the East Coast, taking place on Sunday, June 2nd at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida in conjunction with Premiere Orlando. NAHA, put on by the Professional Beauty Association, always brings together the beauty industry’s top artists and biggest brands, and NAHA 2024 was no exception.

The excitement of NAHA 2024 kicked off with a glamorous red-carpet reception, where attendees raised a glass with peers and caught a glimpse of the finalists plus former winners. The program included a VIP reception, red carpet and media interviews with finalists, including The Tease. NAHA Master Sponsors included Biolage, JCPenney Beauty and Salon, L’Oréal Professional Paris, Matrix, Mizani, Moroccanoil, Pureology, Redken, Schwarzkopf Professional and Ulta Beauty. Other sponsors included Dyson, Aveda, Minerva, Wahl, Kao, amika and more.

The show itself, emceed by salon professional industry icon Sam Villa, was a spectacular look back at NAHA’s own history. A selection of previous NAHA winners including Nick Stenson, Lauren Moser Samuels, Danielle Keasling, Jamal Edmonds and Chrystofer Benson, among others, participated in the ceremony, recreating looks from their past winning collections for a runway of sorts by 3Jay Productions. Between this retrospective and the focus on 2024’s finalists, NAHA delivered a celebration of extraordinary talent and artistry with wins that shocked and speeches that moved the crowd to cheers, tears and standing ovations.
