In case you missed it somehow, the “Prettiest Girl in America” singer and “Hacks” actress, Meg Stalter, went to the 78th Emmy Awards as an actual Emmy. Gold from head to toe, and hair — by longtime collaborator Clayton Hawkins.
Hawkins has created some of Stalter’s most stunning hairstyles, but this look is pretty impossible to top. (But I’m sure they’ll find a way —and we’ll write about that look too.) He says, “When [she] told me she wanted to look like an actual Emmy for the Emmys, I thought, of course. I wanted the hair to feel like part of the statue, so I created a Grecian-inspired sculptural updo. Only Meg could pull off literally becoming an Emmy.”

Get the Look:
- A custom hairpiece was created by saturating and sculpting curls into place with Headstrong Intense Hold Hairspray, before spray-painting the piece gold and hand-applying Swarovski crystals. The piece took approximately 18 hours to create, with separate kiss curls made using the same technique.
- Slick hair into a high ponytail using Fluxus Touchable Hairspray, then create a small bun as the base for the custom piece.
- Attach the custom gold-and-crystal piece over the bun, paint the hairline gold, and add a few final crystals.
- Complete the look with Soulstruck Nourishing Dry Hair Mask for a high-shine, polished finish.
