Volume Up by The Tease is excited to continue our mini-series featuring the winners and trailblazers of the first-ever Texture Style Awards. Over four podcasts, there will be a short interview with one of the winners to talk about their experience in addition to our regular length interviews with individuals throughout the beauty industry.

In this third week of the series, we talked with the wonderful Richar Staten who won Curly Hairstylist of the Year. Richar talks with us about how she is constantly learning and educating herself to get better and learn new things. She also gave us insight into how she reacted when she heard she won and how the win has changed her trajectory.

We had the opportunity to talk with Michelle O’Connor on Matrix’s new line ‘A Curl Can Dream’. Michelle walked us through how she got involved in beauty and with Matrix! We talked with her all about the new line, going in detail about the work that was put into the line, Michelle’s favorite products, the meaning of the name and all about CURLS. Michelle gave us the secret to getting those right out of the water Mermaid curls all day long. She talks passionately about curls of all shapes and sizes and why this line is helping curly-haired girls achieve their dream curls.

Join Volume Up by The Tease this week to get your curl on and see if your curls can dream.

“So when I tell you like this is the yummiest, most beautiful product to not only wearing your hair but to also just linger in the room after.”

“Why can’t a curl be whatever it wants to be.”

“It means everything especially for a girl like me, who you know sometimes when you’re looking at the big brands and you’re wanting to see yourself reflected in the big brands. This is a nod to that. This is a nod to say I see you.”
