Skin and hair OGs Neutrogena and OGX just launched two lines focused on scalp health, built on Kenvue’s (their parent company’s) skincare expertise. Trichologists and dermatologists worked on developing the two new systems, which are powered by peptides and, according to Kenvue, treat the scalp “with the same precision traditionally reserved for facial skin.”
“Scalp care is not just a new trend,” Andrew Stanleick, President of Kenvue Skin Health & Beauty, North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, said. “82% of women believe that healthy hair growth starts with a healthy scalp.”
Stanleick added that the two new lines, Neutrogena Hair Restore and OGX ProGrowth + Peptide, are “bringing advanced skincare to haircare – while also making premium aesthetics, fragrances and packaging accessible to all.”
Available exclusively at Walmart, the Neutrogena Hair Restore is a five-step collection developed hand in hand with dermatologists and packed with skin actives, such as niacinamide. It includes shampoo, conditioner, and the three stars of the show: a scalp detox treatment, a growth-support serum, and a collagen peptide supplement.
The Triple Action Scalp Cleanser is the perfect go-to for detoxifying the scalp, Kenvue stated in a press release. It exfoliates dead skin cells, removes build-up, and eliminates excess oil, and the built-in scrub applicator gently massages the scalp.
If you’re looking for extra support, Neutrogena’s Advanced Growth Support Serum should also be part of your hair care list. According to the brand, its new patent-pending Micro-Peptide XP technology “activates within the scalp to restore hair density from the root, delivering up to 41% less shedding,” and therefore longer, fuller hair.
The collection will be available at other retailers early next year, and Kenvue is working to launch its own clinical study to demonstrate the new line’s results.
But if you’re looking for growth and repair, OGX’s new four-step line, OGX ProGrowth + Peptide, might be the right choice. Developed by a trichologist, Kenvue says the system delivers instant results by unclogging pores, hydrating the scalp, and thickening strands from the root.
