Suveen Sahib on the New K18 x Future Society Collab

10/17/2025

K18 and Future Society have teamed up to release a first-of-its-kind collab — the K18 x Future Society Floating Forest Leave-In Molecular Repair Hair Mask. Together, these science-backed brands are unveiling a limited-edition version of the viral and beloved K18 Molecular Repair Hair Mask that pairs K18’s innovative technology with Future Society’s most popular scent, Floating Forest. The result makes the impossible possible in haircare and scent with biotech.

Powered by the patented K18PEPTIDE, the leave-in molecular repair hair mask has the right size and molecular structure to repair multiple types of bonds at the molecular level. For the first-time ever, it is available in a scented version with cool aquatic floral notes including:

  • Top notes: cooling bergamot + black pepper
  • Mid notes: dewy freesia, water lily + rose absolute
  • Bottom notes: salted musk, wet stones + papyrus

This marks the first time two biotech-first beauty brands have partnered, a milestone that highlights how biotech is driving the next era of innovation across the industry. Given the groundbreaking nature of the collab, The Tease reached out to K18’s co-founder Suveen Sahib for comment. Scroll for our quick conversation.

The Tease: I’m sure there have been a lot of requests to collaborate since you launched, so why Future Society and why now?

Suveen Sahib: At K18, our DNA is about rewriting what’s possible in haircare through biotech. Future Society, powered by Arcaea, shares this same spirit of scientific boundary-breaking. Their work in decoding the DNA of extinct flowers to resurrect lost scents is unlike anything else in beauty, it reframes fragrance not as nostalgia, but as innovation rooted in biology. This collaboration felt like a natural convergence: two biotech-driven brands coming together to expand what care and creativity can mean. With Future Society, we’re not just adding scent to haircare, we’re creating a sensorial layer that mirrors our own journey of turning the impossible into the tangible.

Did you know that the “Floating Forest” scent would be the one?

Sahib: We knew we wanted a fragrance that felt immersive and carried the same sense of “science-as-art” that underpins K18. Floating Forest does exactly that, it’s inspired by reimagined botanicals and crafted with a complexity that mirrors the biomimetic precision of our formulas. Working with the Future Society team, who bring their heritage of decoding and resurrecting natural scents through biotech, we trusted their artistry and science to guide us to a fragrance that could transform a haircare routine into a sensorial ritual. Floating Forest isn’t just a scent, it’s a story of nature, science, and imagination interwoven.

We’re excited about this collaboration, but now that you’ve opened the door to a limited-edition scent, can we expect more drops in the future?

Sahib: K18 has always innovated by starting with biology, and this limited-edition launch lets us test how scent can add new dimensions to haircare without compromising efficacy. Future Society’s work with extinct and reimagined botanicals proves that biotech opens doors we couldn’t have imagined before and this collaboration is our bold first step in translating that into haircare. While Floating Forest is the centerpiece now, we see endless potential in how science and scent can merge to create experiences that feel both personal and profound.
