The Most Glamorous Hairstyles From the 2023 Critics’ Choice Awards

01/17/2023

After last week’s Golden Globes, our favorite stars and their glam teams were back at it for the 28th annual Critics’ Choice Awards. The event, which celebrates the finest achievements in TV and film (as voted on by the critics, of course) brought forth so many head-turning hair moments to feast our eyes on. When it came to the red carpet, Hollywood’s biggest stars spared no opportunity to fully lean into glamour, with elaborate updos, vintage waves, and intricate braided looks ruling the night. Ahead, prepare to be dazzled by some of our favorite hairstyles from the 2023 Critics’ Choice Awards.

Quinta Brunson

We can’t get enough of this ultra-sleek top knot that hairstylist Alexander Armand styled for Quinta Brunson with Maui Moisture styling products and Olivia Garden tools.

Anna Sawai

Anna Sawai dazzled with a sleek knotted bun that was adorned with a glossy gold cuff. Her look came courtesy of hairstylist Jenny Cho.

Lily James

Lily James gave a nod to Audrey Hepburn with her side-swept bangs and textured low bun that was styled by hairstylist Halley Brisker.

Anya Taylor-Joy

This top knot with soft texture that hairstylist Gregory Russell styled for Anya Taylor-Joy is the picture of perfection.

Angela Bassett

Angela Bassett stunned with a sleek low ponytail featuring soft curls that came courtesy of hairstylist Randy Stodghill and PHYTO styling products.

Janelle Monae

Leave it to hairstylist Nikki Nelms to dream up one of the coolest braided looks we’ve seen in a while. These tights braids with woven black string that she created for Janelle Monae are truly a work of art.

Kate Hudson

Kate Hudson went for effortless glam with a middle part and sleek strands styled by hairstylist Lona Vigi.

Madelyn Cline

The vintage vibes were strong with Madelyn Cline who channeled Grace Kelly with this beautiful coiff that was styled by hairstylist Ted Gibson

Kerry Washington

Kerry Washington went for mega-volume with her pulled-back soft curls that were styled by hairstylist Takisha Sturdivant-Drew

Milly Alcock

Milly Alcock wins the award for best bow moment with this dreamy half-up do featuring an extra-long black bow. Her look came courtesy of hairstylist Graham Nation.

All eyes were on Danielle Deadwyler and this sophisticated rope twist updo that hairstylist Araxi Lindsey styled.

Aubrey Plaza

We’re obsessed with this twisted updo that hairstylist Mark Townsend created for Aubrey Plaza using Olivia Garden tools and Sol de Janeiro products. It’s so stunning!

Sheryl Lee Ralph

Sheryl Lee Ralph served full glam with her middle part and soft textured curls that came courtesy of hairstylist Moira “Fingaz” Frazier. According to Frazier, to create the look, she took “various sections of [Ralph’s] hair and wand curled it along with the natural curly pattern of the wig. Together this created nice textured curls perfect for any red carpet.”

Sadie Sink

Hairstylist Ryan Richman used Olivia Garden tools and Aveda products to create these gorgeous relaxed waves for Sadie Sink.

Natasha Lyonne

Natasha Lyonne looked cool as ever rocking a fluffy blowout and natural wavy bangs that were styled by hairstylist Vernon Francois

Kelsey Asbille

Kelsey Asbille slayed with a wet-look bob that came courtesy of hairstylist Tim Muir
