TheTease.com Publisher Launches New Book With a Bigger Mission: Resetting Beauty Industry Culture

09/22/2026

Today, Nice Girls Win: How Kind Women Can Create the Lives They Deserve officially launches. Authored by our publisher, Kelly Ehlers, the release of the book aims to begin an honest conversation about culture and workplace norms in the beauty industry. At TheTease.com, we are taking this opportunity to say the quiet part out loud, name the problem and help to rebuild a workplace culture we’re proud of.

Our industry is creative, entrepreneurial and deeply rooted in connection. It is also an industry that has normalized some unhealthy ways of working for far too long.

Too many beauty professionals have been taught that these experiences are simply the price of earning their place in the industry.

We do not believe they should be.

Introducing the Beauty Industry Culture Reset

In partnership with Nice Girls Win, TheTease.com is launching the Beauty Industry Culture Reset, a campaign designed to help build a healthier model for working and leading in professional beauty.

It begins with one question: What were you taught to tolerate in this industry that you would never ask the next generation to accept?

We want to hear from stylists, salon owners, educators, students, independent professionals, brand leaders and everyone helping shape the future of beauty.

The goal is not to point fingers or pretend toxic workplace culture can be traced back to one person. It cannot. It also cannot be changed by one person.

Real change requires us to name what is not working, share what we have learned and decide together what we want the next generation of beauty professionals to experience instead.

Why Nice Girls Win Belongs in This Conversation

Written by entrepreneur, agency founder and longtime beauty industry leader, Kelly Ehlers, Nice Girls Win is a bold, practical blueprint for women who are ready to stop playing by rules that require them to stay quiet, overgive and accept less than they deserve.

The book is about setting boundaries, advocating for what you deserve and pursuing the whole damn thing without becoming someone you do not recognize.

Those lessons feel especially relevant in professional beauty, where kindness, service and emotional intelligence are essential to the work.

Nice Girls Win reminds us that kindness and power are not opposites. We can lead differently, and we can create healthier workplaces without losing the qualities that make this industry so special.

100 Books for the Next 100 Culture Changers

To begin turning this conversation into action, TheTease.com and Nice Girls Win are giving away 100 complimentary copies of the book to 100 beauty professionals committed to creating a healthier industry.

Beauty professionals can apply by sharing:

  • Their role within the professional beauty industry
  • The salon, school, brand or organization they represent
  • A video sharing one thing they want to change about beauty industry work culture
  • What they want to help build in its place

We want to hear from established industry leaders, but we also want to hear from assistants, students, emerging professionals, independent stylists and the people whose voices have not always been given the same platform.

Selected recipients will receive a complimentary copy of Nice Girls Win and may also be invited to participate in future stories, discussions, surveys and events focused on creating healthier beauty industry culture.
