Zendaya’s pixie cut continues to be everything and it absolutely stole the spotlight at tonight’s Emmy Awards.
Coree Moreno, responsible for her cut a few weeks ago, styled her for the event and said, “For Zendaya, the inspiration is a classic pixie reimagined through a modern, editorial lens.” He added, “I wanted the silhouette to feel feminine and refined with a little rebellion—sleek around the perimeter with airy, piece-y texture and controlled height through the crown.”

- “I began by prepping the hair with Schwarzkopf KERATÎME Deep Repair Detangling Treatment, working it throughout the hair to create a silky, conditioned and manageable foundation. I followed with the KERATÎME Hair Bonding Oil to add an extra layer of smoothness and shine while helping the hair feel soft and polished. Because this look relies on manipulating short sections while maintaining softness, I wanted the hair to feel supple and healthy before introducing heat and texture.
- To begin, blow dry the hair using the ghd Speed to begin building the pixie silhouette. I used the Arachne Mini Shine Boost Gloss Infusion Daily Boar Brush to smooth and polish the hair as I dried, keeping the sides close to the head while directing the crown upward and slightly forward. This gave me the refined, glossy foundation I wanted without removing the natural movement that would become important during sculpting.
- Once dry, I misted göt2b glued 2-in-1 Spray Wax throughout the crown to introduce grip, separation and workable texture. I concentrated the product where I wanted the most movement, allowing the perimeter to remain cleaner and more controlled.
- Once dry, use the ghd Sculpt to lift, bend, and redirect individual pieces. Using the ghd Sculpt Interactive Hair Straightener in Black, I worked in small, irregular sections to create the architecture of the pixie. Rather than simply straightening the hair, I used the Sculpt to lift, bend and redirect individual pieces.
- I elevated sections at the root, introduced subtle bends through the lengths and alternated their direction to prevent the texture from becoming too uniform.
- To finish, I returned to the göt2b glued 2-in-1 Spray Wax, lightly misting wherever I wanted additional definition. Using my fingertips, I pinched and separated individual pieces through the crown and fringe until the silhouette felt effortless. Once I was happy with the shape, I finished with göt2b glued Blasting Freeze Spray to lock the style in place while maintaining the sculpted shape and definition. The final result is sculptural, glossy, feminine and slightly rebellious—a timeless pixie with a distinctly modern attitude.”
