Celebrity Hairstylist Julius Michael Installed My Hidden Crown Hair Extensions— Here’s Why He Swears by Them

12/05/2023

If there’s anyone we can trust to consistently create ultra-glam hair looks, it’s celebrity hairstylist Julius Michael. A renowned stylist to stars, Michael is the mane master responsible for making so many of our favorite Real Housewives and Bravo-celebrities look so dang good. Not to mention, he has quite the reputation for working extension magic on all his clients. Recently, I was lucky enough to experience Michael’s talent firsthand, after being given the opportunity to have him style my hair with Hidden Crown hair extensions. Keep reading for a closer look at my experience—including everything I learned about his go-to extension brand, Hidden Crown.

As someone who has never worn any sort of hair extensions before, I was met with a bit of nervousness before my appointment with Michael to get my Hidden Crown Clip-Ins installed. Would they look unnatural? Or perhaps feel heavy and awkward?

Spoiler alert: that could not have been further from the case. Michael and the Hidden Crown team performed a total hair transformation on me in an hour, and my new extensions made me feel like a completely different person. They looked and felt so natural, and with each look in the mirror I was hit with a surge of confidence.

While getting my hair styled by Michael, I learned that he swears by Hidden Crown for his hair extensions. He explained to me that so many of the extensions he has tried in the past have proved to be difficult to style as they tend to melt on the curler. We did not come across this issue while Michael was styling my extensions and he informed me it was due to the fact that my new clip-ins were not synthetic.

One of the best things about Hidden Crown’s clip-in extensions is how  extremely light and easy to blend they are. Michael installed two sets of clip-ins in my head, and I still felt capable of going about my day without feeling weighed down or noticing any other drawbacks that I have heard people often complain about with faux hair. Another added plus is that these extensions  also cause zero damage, and are easy to remove.

For those unfamiliar with Hidden Crown, the hair extensions brand was founded by Ford model Shelley Goodstein after she realized there was a gap in the market for accessible and affordable high quality extensions. Speaking about the formation of Hidden Crown, Goodstein shared, “When I founded this company in 2013 in a small home office as a one-woman show, I set out to create high-quality extensions that were easily accessible, affordable, and that anyone could put on themselves at home. What matters most to me is the quality of hair we use to make our extensions. Extensions are not regulated in the US, so you must trust the company you buy from.”

When it comes to their extensions, Hidden Crown guarantees ethically-sourced, 100% real human hair, hence why experienced stylists like Michael are so drawn to the  brand. Plus, not only is the quality unmatched, but the application is also easy too. In fact, the clip-ins that I received were 50% thinner at the top which allowed them to appear as natural as possible.

Whether you are new to the world of extensions like I am, or have been wearing them for years, I highly recommend investing in some Hidden Crown extensions. From clip-ins and halo extensions to messy buns and ponytails, the brand has a variety of hair options to suit your specific hair needs.
