Forever-long hair is having a moment and we couldn’t be more pleased. In the music video for “Única,” her collaboration with Tainy, Karol G’s hair would make Rapunzel herself jealous. The Colombian superstar’s longtime hairstylist Cesar DeLeon Ramirez created a 30-foot, custom wig for the shoot, engineered from concept to completion in under 24 hours.
The final piece was delivered to set in Madrid just two hours before call time.
Deleon Ramirez tells The Tease, “This might be one of the most ambitious beauty creations of my career. With the support of three assistants and 18 hours of nonstop work, we transformed two 42-inch wigs into the foundation of this dramatic piece.” He adds, “To match Karol G’s signature blonde, I used L’Oréal Professionnel Majirel 7.11 and 8.01 on the base and blended additional braiding hair in four custom-selected tones for the cascading length. We refined every strand with L’Oréal’s AirLight Pro to ensure a smooth, seamless finish.” Once the full structure was completed, Deleon Ramirez perfected the look using Kérastase Gloss Absolu Anti-Frizz Glaze Milk and Gloss Drops, “giving the hair a glossy, fluid shine worthy of its extraordinary length.”
The result is a high-fashion, cinematic beauty moment that blends sculptural design, movement, and technical mastery mixed with extreme glam, maximalism and romance. Or as Deleon Ramirez says, “Rapunzel-like glamour, a true test of artistry, innovation, and creative fearlessness.”
