Singer-actress Coco Jones debuted a new look at last night’s Grammys. It was lighter and shorter than her go-to styles and, thanks to celebrity hairstylist Davontae’ Washington, it was also wet.
Washington tells The Tease, “[Jones’] gown has such a romantic, sculptural quality, so we wanted the hair to feel like a modern counterbalance.” He adds, “Using Dyson allowed us to create clean lines and movement without overworking the hair. It’s sleek, controlled, and effortless, which really complements the overall look.”
And that “wetness”? SheaMoisture products. More on that below.
Get the Look:
- “To create this look, I started by using the Dyson Supersonic r Pro Hair Dryer with the Styling Concentrator attachment on high heat and high airflow to smooth and blow the hair out while keeping control and movement.
- Once the hair was dry, I went in with my products (Editor’s Note: Washington used SheaMoisture Silk Press Prep Cream followed by Bonding Oil with Amla Oil) and worked them through to bring the hair back to life and create a natural wave.
- I finished by switching to the Diffuser attachment to lock everything into place, enhance texture, and set the shape without disturbing the softness. The result is a modern wet look that feels fluid, effortless, and controlled.”
