After taking over the music industry, the fashion industry and the makeup industry, Rihanna is finally entering the skincare game. On July 14th, the actress and singer blessed us with the announcement of Fenty Skin, “the new culture of skincare.” In an Instagram video posted to both @fentybeauty and @badgalriri, the beauty guru teased fans with what to expect.
What We Know
Fenty Beauty has already dabbled in lip care products, so it was only a matter of time before Rihanna launched an entire skincare line.”I’ve been working on @fentyskin for over 2 years, perfecting formulas and creating packaging that is kind to our planet!! Formulas that work and work well with makeup!!!” She shared on Instagram.
“Everything starts with the foundation that is your skin and we all know how obsessed I am with beautiful, healthy skin- so whether you want to wear makeup, or no makeup at all, there’s always glowing skin underneath.”
Although no products have been officially announced yet, the singer’s original post reveals that Fenty Skin will likely include a cleanser, some sort of toner or serum and a moisturizer.
Twitter user @TeamOfRihanna also revealed that the skincare brand has already filed for six different trademarks under “skincare preparations.” The trademarks include products called “Buff Ryder,” “Instant Reset,” “Fat Water,” “Flash Nap,” “Hydra Vizor” and “Total Cleans’r.”
Fenty Skin is for Everyone
RiRi is all about providing products for everybody. Fenty Beauty became the giant it is because of the inclusivity of each product, including a foundation that offers fifty different shades. Unsurprisingly, that same sentiment will be transferred over to Fenty Skin. A$AP Rocky and Lil Nas X are both prominently featured in the campaign video. Rihanna responded to a Twitter user asking for products for men, saying “Whoever told you skincare has a gender, LIED to you!”
Needless to say, everyone will be using the skincare products once they drop.
