Fenty Hair, Rihanna’s New Hair Care Line, Officially Has a Launch Date

06/04/2024

For the past few years, there’s been much speculation about whether Rihanna would be setting her sights on conquering the haircare world, after news of trademark filings for Fenty Hair circulated around the internet. At long last, we finally have our answer: a hair care line is indeed happening and it is coming way sooner than we had anticipated.

On June 4, RiRi herself confirmed the news on her Instagram account, sharing that Fenty Hair is officially launching on June 13. “A new family is moving in! @fentyhair is pullin up and it’s time to finally have the hair experience you’ve been waiting for,” she captioned the post, which featured a promotional video of the singer sporting a blonde pixie cut alongside other individuals with different hair types.

As we all know, Rihanna is the ultimate hair chameleon. From cherry-red bobs and edgy pixie cuts to waist-length braids and blond perms, no hairstyle has been off limits for the beauty mogul. As it turns out, these iconic hair transformations—many of which have been done in collaboration with her longtime hairstylist Yusef—were largely a source of inspiration for Rihanna in creating the hair care line.

“You know how much switching up my hair matters to me. I’ve had almost every texture, color, length, from weaves to braids to natural,” she wrote in the post. “So I am launching a flexible line of products for not only every hair want, but every single product is designed to strengthen and repair all types of hair, which is what we truly need! It’s time to play and get strong by the style.”

Fenty Hair is set to join Rihanna’s growing beauty empire which currently includes Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin. Back in 2017, the star completely disrupted the beauty industry by launching Fenty Beauty, the company’s flagship brand, with 40 shades of foundation that welcomed all skin tones. Fenty Beauty’s inclusive shade range inspired many other brands to follow suit, in a movement that’s since become known as the “Fenty Effect.”

“It was also important that every woman felt included in this brand,” Rihanna told TIME in a 2017 interview following the launch. “We are all so different, with our unique skin tones, so we started with 40 foundation shades out the gate.”

After seeing the difference she made with foundation shade ranges with Fenty Beauty, we are so excited to see what sort of impact that Fenty Hair will have on the haircare industry. While no further details have been shared about the hair line’s products or packaging, the brand is encouraging fans to sign up via the brand’s website to get early access.

While we all wait, be sure to follow @badgalriri and @fentyhair on Instagram for the latest updates about the brand.
