Lizzo never fails to impress at any red carpet, especially at the Met Gala. The singer made a splash on the red carpet in a corseted white and black gown with a plunging neckline and fishtail skirt designed by Christian Siriano. To accessorize, she held a black cigarette holder in her hand.
Lizzo’s curve-hugging gown definitely made a statement on the carpet, as did her hair and makeup. The star debuted platinum blonde looks that were styled in beautiful Old Hollywood waves by celebrity hairstylist JStayReady. As for her makeup, celebrity makeup artist Alexx Mayo dreamed up a fabulous sultry makeup look for the star that featured a smokey eye and dark lip.

Beauty
Makeup artist, Alexx Mayo, used IVY Beauty to achieve Lizzo’s dark, feminine makeup look for the Met Gala. He said the team “wanted the makeup to have a bold statement while remaining timeless. Using the Ruby Kisses Cushion Foundation for a look that would last all night and remain fresh looking.”
Get the Look:
- Mayo started with the Ruby Kisses Cushion Foundation in shade 410 to even out the skin tone and give a second skin finish.
- He then used a deeper shade of the Cushion Foundation in shade 420 to add depth and dimension.
- Mayo then applied the Kiss New York Blurring Pressed Powder in the Shade Caramel to set the face locking the makeup in.
- He then added a pop of color to the cheeks using the Kiss New York Pearl Blush Wand in Daring Dahlia
- To add natural dimension to the outer eye for a soft cat eye effect, he used i-Envy Color Couture Leopard clusters in dark brown
- Then, he topped off a sultry vampy lip using the Ruby Kisses Lip Oil Booster in the Shade Chocolate.
Hair
As for the hair, celebrity hairstylist JSTAYREADY worked with RED by Kiss styling products and premium Vivace by Kiss hair.
Get the Look:
- JSTAYREADY started by braiding down Lizzo‘s hair into cornrows.
- For Lizzo’s platinum hair, he shampooed and conditioned the wig and then applied a serum to the towel dried hair – focusing on the shafts and ends of the wig.
- He then blowdried the serum into the hair and then sewed in extensions from the Vivace by Kiss SAEMOSHI BODY WAVE MULTIPACK hair in color #613.
