Marc Mena on Unlocking Madelyn Cline’s ‘Unapologetic’ New Power for Her ‘IKWYDLS’ Premiere Hairstyle

07/16/2025

Madelyn Cline looked like a movie star at the premiere of “I Know What You Did Last Summer,” but like one from the 90s — before the press machine as we know it, when things were a little less done. It’s perfectly fitting given that her film is the hotly-anticipated companion to the 1997 original. (And, yes, several actors from the 1997 film return!)

Working with go-to hairstylist, Marc Mena, Cline wore her blonde hair down, center-parted with mega volume (thanks to Great Lengths extensions) and loose waves. Quiet confidence. Something more though according to Mena!

Talking exclusively with The Tease, Mena says, “This look is cunty in the best, most unapologetic way. It’s confident, daring, and effortlessly glamorous.” He adds, “The soft pink dress contrasts with the bold plunge, blending delicate femininity with fierce energy,” punctuating that “the styling, with sleek, effortless hair and glowing skin, gives major ‘I know I look good’ vibes cool, composed, and commanding the room without saying a word. A true embodiment of that cunty power.” We honestly couldn’t agree more.

Mena, a Great Lengths Brand Ambassador, tells us, “The new Essenza and Aria hair extensions make it incredibly easy to elevate your look for any high-impact moment—whether you’re walking a red carpet, saying ‘I do,’ or attending an exclusive event.” Scroll for a breakdown from Mena.

Get the Look:

  • Mena started with Cline’s clean, wet hair, applying a heat protectant one inch from the scalp through the ends of the hair.
  • He then began blowing the hair dry using a one-inch round brush across three-inch sections create some bend and movement while adding a sleekness to the strands.
  • To add in thickness and fullness to the hair, Mena applied the Great Lengths Essenza and Aria Tape-In Extensions.
    • Mena says these tape-ins are perfect for the red carpet because they “add instant fullness and length for Hollywood-worthy glam.”
  • Starting at above the crown of the head, he applied the extensions in two different colors to effortlessly blend into her natural hair.
  • Mena then trimmed the extensions slightly to blend them in even more, before brushing through the hair while adding Maria Nila Stockholm oil to the ends and texture spray to the roots.
