When two best-selling products from two cult-favorite brands come together, you know it’s bound to be a match-made in beauty heaven.
After much anticipation, celebrity hairstylist and OUAI founder Jen Atkin took to Instagram on August 4th, to announce that her beloved hair line has teamed up with luxury fragrance house Byredo on a limited-edition, perfumed dry shampoo.
Priced at $24, The OUAI x Bryredo Super Dry Shampoo promises the same volumizing formula of OUAI’s popular Super Dry Shampoo along with the addition of Byredo’s iconic “Mojave Ghost” scent – which includes notes of crisp amber, magnolia, and sandalwood.
OUAI fans who are new to Byredo and the allure of its much raved about Mojave Ghost fragrance will be happy to know that the scent comes highly recommended by Atkin.
“Jen picked Mojave Ghost as it was her favorite and it worked perfectly for us. It is a lingering scent that is ethereal, so you can wear it on its own or layer it,” Byredo founder Ben Gorham said, in a statement on OUAI’s website.
Much like us, Atkin could hardly contain her excitement on the new product launch, calling the partnership with Byredo, a “bucket list collaboration” in her announcement.
In most millennial move ever, the collab between the two beauty bosses actually started out thanks Atkin sliding into Gorham’s DMs, according to a post she shared on Instagram.
“I’ve always been in awe of Ben’s story as a founder, and have loved watching him grow his company into different categories successfully for so many years,” she said. “His aesthetic has always been minimal and chic before it was trending. I’m so lucky to have him as a friend and mentor, and partnering with Byredo has always been a dream of mine. Everything from the name of the scents to the photography to the marketing is infused with his subtle genius and it’s an honor to have OUAI in its orbit.”
