Queen Cate Blanchett did not come to play at last night’s Golden Globe Awards. Looking every bit the red carpet royalty she is, the Best Actress nominee’s hair was done in the most elegant, undone updo by Robert Vetica. (Vetica’s celebrity clients include Gwen Stefani, Colbie Smulders, Debra Messing, Alison Brie and more.)

Styled by Elizabeth Stewart, Blanchett donned a gorgeous yellow Mary Katrantzou gown with outrageous embellishments and was made up to perfection thanks to Cedric Jolivet.

Recreate this effortless look using Olivia Garden tools and Leonor Greyl products with styling tips directly from Vetica:

Step 1

Start with clean, wet hair. Apply Leonor Greyl Mousse au Lotus Volumatrice to give strands some texture and volume. Then, use the Olivia Garden Ceramic + Ion Hair Dryer to dry the hair completely.

Purchase the OG Ceramic + Ion Hair Dryer at Macy’s here.

Step 2

Next, use the Olivia Garden Private Collection Ceramic + Ionic Round Brush to create a side part. Then, apply a small amount of the Leonor Greyl Laque Souple to keep the part in place.

Get the super chic Private Collection Ceramic + Ionic Round Brush from Urban Outfitters here. (Yes way, rosé!) For shorter hair, opt for the smaller version.

Step 3

Now, section off the hair, and use the Olivia Garden Ceramic + Ion Flat Iron to create natural waves on the ends. After the hair is curled, use the Olivia Garden Style-Up Combo Folding Teasing Brush starting at the root, and begin to back comb the top portion to create volume.

The OG Ceramic + Ion Flat Iron can be purchased here. And don’t forget the Style-Up Combo Folding Teasing Brush from Ulta here.

Step 4

Once the hair is swept back and in its desired shape at the nape, apply bobby pins and pin the hair into a loose knotted bun, allowing for some pieces to naturally fall out.

Step 5

Finally, lock the look in place by applying Leonor Greyl Laque Souple lightly throughout.
