Getting Started
Jessica Havermale: “This [points to planner] is my Bible. I have all of my clients that we’ve done and every service that we’ve done so that when they come back in we know what we did and how to recreate it.”
The Tease: What does a typical day look like for you at JCPenney Salon?
Havermale: “My typical day is not always a fashion color and that makes me so sad. Typically, it’s a lot of haircuts. People will come in to do a highlight touch up. Or, sometimes to do just one color or a root touch up, just little things.
If I’m not back here working on a client. I am usually up front, either helping at the registers if they need some help. Or out in front of the salon, talking with customers, people who are walking by. Or helping recommend products for people.”
Why Sundays Are The Best
Havermale: “Sundays are probably my favorite days because they’re shorter… I come in on Sundays and it’s my day to get my tools cleaned, reset, get refocused, reenergized for the rest of the week. And then I work about five days straight and I have my two days off. Get my social battery back up.”
