The Monthly Edit: Every Product Our Editors Loved in January

As beauty editors, we’re always discovering and trying out fun, new products. While not every hair oil, lipstick, or serum becomes a favorite, the ones that do definitely deserved to be shared with our fellow hair and beauty lovers (i.e. YOU!).

Each month, we highlight the products that our editors can’t and won’t stop talking about. Below, see their top picks for the month of January 2022!

Felicia Leatherwood Original Detangler Brush

“I finally understand all the hype about the Felicia Leatherwood Detangler Brush. This brush detangles your hair like an absolute dream without pulling or snagging your strands which is something I definitely appreciate as someone who is very tender-headed. While you can use this brush on both dry or damp hair, I personally love to use it on wet hair paired with my favorite conditioner to ensure that I’m coating every strand with product from root to tip. And, it’s also worth noting that this brush is extremely easy to clean. If you have textured hair like me, trust me when I say that you need this baby for your wash-day regimen.” — Camille Nzengung, hair features editor

Shop: Felicia Leatherwood Original Detangler Brush (Black), $17.99

Therapedic Faux Fur Weighted Blanket

“After getting this for Christmas, I needed a month to really get used to the blanket. The weight of the blanket is heavy enough where you feel surrounded, but not too heavy where you feel like you can’t breathe. This blanket is perfect for cuddling up after work and getting a little R and R.” — Madeline Hickey, editorial assistant

Shop: Therapedic Faux Fur Weighted Blanket in Ivory, $89.99

Mielle Organics Rosemary Mint Scalp & Hair Straightening Oil

“For several years, I was having difficulties retaining length. I began using Mielle Rosemary Mint Scalp oil over the summer, and with consistency, it has helped my hair’s growth tremendously.” — Brittny Pierre, social media editor

Shop: Mielle Organics Rosemary Mint Scalp & Hair Straightening Oil, $9.99

Costa Brazil Serum Para A Face

“After spending some time in a tropical environment, coming back North was very difficult for my skin. After browsing deep into the beauty side of the Internet, I discovered Costa Brazil. I have to be really careful with trying new skincare because I have oily skin and very sensitive skin so I’ll often start with the serum for a brand rather than the cleanser or toner. This serum is priced as a luxury product and I particularly enjoy the firming, energizing effect.” — Monica Hickey, The Tease Co-Founder

Shop: Costa Brazil Serum Para A Face, $135.00

LANEIGE Sleep and Glow Set

“I got a LANEIGE trial package with their Water Bank Moisture Cream, Water Sleeping Mask, and Lip Sleeping Mask. This trio is AMAZING. As someone who finds it hard to find some extra time to pamper myself, these products fit into my schedule perfectly. Not only can I put these items on after cleansing my face at night and going to sleep, it feels like I am at my own spa. The products are moisturizing, cool, and make your face and lips feel so soft. Would highly recommend picking these products up ASAP.” — Madeline H.

Shop: LANEIGE Good Night Kit, $20.00 (similar)

REFY Brow Sculpt Shape and Hold Gel

“Not to put my eyebrow lady out of business, but REFY Brow Sculpt Gel gives me the perfect laminated eyebrows that hold all day without having to get them laminated!” — B.P.

Shop: Refy Brow Sculpt Shape and Hold Gel, $24.00

Meidian Green Mask Stick

“This mask has been bombarding me on all social channels from many different brands (note: we do not support diversion at, and so I finally gave in and purchased. While my results were not as dramatic as some of the viral Youtube videos, it was excellent for ridding my pores of excess oil without stripping. The green tea made my skin feel moisturized without any extra residue. I hate to be one of the Internet sheep, but I would absolutely use this again!” — Monica H.

Shop: Meidian Green Mask Stick, $9.98
