After a five-night-long celebration, the 52nd annual NAACP Image Awards finally came to a head on Saturday night with a star-studded ceremony hosted by Black-ish star Anthony Anderson. Despite this year’s festivities being a mostly virtual affair, our favorite stars still came together remotely to honor Black excellence across television, music, literature, and film.
There may not have been a red carpet, but that didn’t stop celebs from showing off their best and most glamorous hair looks. From sculptural updos to pretty ponies and dazzling headpieces, stars like Marsai Martin, Brandee Evans, and Tracee Ellis Ross came through serving some of the most mesmerizing hairstyles that we’ve ever seen.

Novi Brown
From the blunt ends to the gold interwoven thread, there is so much to love about actress Novi Brown’s braided updo by hairstylist Fesa Nu. To create this beautiful styles that’s fit for a Queen, Nu “decided to keep it sleek and elegant with a bit of texture” by playing with shapes and giving Brown “some chunky braids with a blunt cut” that were accented with rope and wallah.
Tracee Ellis Ross
All eyes were on Tracee Ellis Ross and her massive golden dove headpiece by Schiaparelli that her hairstylist Nai’vasha styled on top of her gorgeous updo.
Alicia Keys
Alicia Keys served up a strong baby hair game at the awards. We’re absolutely living for this curled pony and swirly baby hairs that hairstylist Kendall Dorsey styled to perfection.
