11/12/2020

For months, The Tease team has worked on a new way to keep salon pros in-the-know and on-trend. This week we launched the first episode of our “Volume Up” podcast, co-hosted by The Tease Founder Kelly Ehlers and Jeffrey Lunnen. Every Monday, the two talk through some of their favorite articles, rant about what’s going on in the salon professional world and interview founders, tastemakers and industry icons.

Listeners get a deep dive into hair, beauty and culture topics they really want to hear about — starting with “It’s a Pandemic – Let’s Launch A Business.” Our guest is Ray Civello, former Global & Creative Director and V.P. of Education for Aveda and owner of CIVELLO salon / spa.

But… The Pandemic?

On “Volume Up,” Civello explains his new brand, Color Space, came out of the chaos that is 2020. When he saw the complicated position stylists found themselves in, he noticed a desperate need. Pros needed resources to help navigate these challenges. With Lupe Voss at his side, the two went full-force into creating a stylist-centered brand. The goal? Address real concerns and make the lives of salon pros easier.

As a result, Color Space propels this mission forward by providing scientifically-backed products and classes to improve salon success and profitability. The fully calibrated color products –– the first of their kind –– ensure happier clients and successful stylists. Both are key for the survival of the industry.

Additionally, with this focus on salon profitability, the brand developed CS Ed. This educational outlet gives stylists reimagined opportunities to gain knowledg. All the while, they ensure their success in an overwhelming and ever-changing time.

Filling In The Color Space

Although starting a new business during the pandemic is the last thing on many professionals’ minds, Civello and Voss’ passion for their mission far outweighed any fear. Furthermore, their passion shows in the innovative, vibrant brand set to launch on January 11, 2021. Mark your calendars!
