“Nobody Wants This” actress Justine Lupe was a willowy vision at the 77th Annual Emmys in a sheer sequined dress and effortless-looking hair by Barb Thompson.
Thompson tells The Tease that “Sexy, cool-girl hair with a perfectly undone finish” was absolutely the vibe, adding “flyaways included.”
We all know that effortless-looking isn’t actually effortless, and Thompson, being the kind-hearted educator that she is, graciously broke down the full look — even including the exact products she used. Read on for more.
Get the Look:
- Prep
- On damp hair, apply RŌZ Root Lift at the crown to create volume and hold.
- Work RŌZ Milk and Santa Lucia Oil through the ends for shine and heat protection.
- Blow Dry
- As you blow dry each section, mist RŌZ Air Thickening Spray for texture and to help waves hold.
- Create Waves
- Once dry, use the T3 Pro 1.25” long barrel iron to stretch out the waves.
- Focus on fullness rather than curls — smooth out some ends.
- Alternate directions on sections to disrupt the pattern, with front pieces curled away from the face.
- Finish
- Mist RŌZ Air Thickening Spray generously, then rough up the texture using the blow dryer for a lived-in feel.
- Apply RŌZ Evergreen to the ends for separation, then work any remaining product into face-framing pieces to complete the look.
