Inside the Amika Means Friend Boston Tour Stop: Hair Education, Community and Giving Back

11/02/2026

For hair pros, education events are about more than just mastering new techniques. They’re for finding inspiration, building relationships, and connecting with a community that shares a passion for the craft. Late last month, amika brought all of that together in Boston with its amika Means Friend Tour.

Held on Sunday, October 25, the event welcomed hairstylists, salon owners, educators, cosmetology students, and beauty creators for an evening of hands-on inspiration, product discovery, and meaningful connections. The experience featured live hairstyling demonstrations and professional education designed to help attendees sharpen their skills and explore techniques they could bring back to the salon. Guests also had the opportunity to discover amika products, take advantage of exclusive promotions, receive signature amika swag bags, and shop limited-edition merchandise.

Another highlight was the opportunity to connect with celebrity hairstylist and educator Eric Vaughn, with meet-and-greets and photo opportunities adding to the event’s community-focused atmosphere.

“The amika means friend tour is meaningful to me because so much of my journey has been shaped by people who made me feel welcome, believed in me, and shared what they knew. Getting to be that person for someone else is one of my favorite parts of being an educator,” shares Vaughn.

Beyond providing technical education, the tour aimed to create an environment where beauty professionals could reconnect with their passion and feel supported by their peers.

“For professionals, it’s a chance to learn, connect, and feel excited about their craft again. We spend so much time pouring into our clients and having a space where we can be inspired, supported, and celebrated matters. I want people to leave with ideas they can use behind the chair, know more about amika products, and leave with the confidence to show up as their authentic selves,” Vaughn explains.

Supporting the Next Generation of Hairstylists

The amika Means Friend Tour also served a larger purpose: investing in the future of the professional beauty industry. All ticket proceeds from the Boston event benefited amika’s Friend to Hair Scholarship, an initiative that provides full-ride cosmetology school scholarships to aspiring hairstylists.

By connecting education and community with opportunities for the next generation, amika is reinforcing its commitment to supporting beauty professionals at every stage of their careers.

From technical demonstrations and product education to mentorship and industry connections, the amika Means Friend Tour is a reminder that some of the most meaningful moments in the beauty industry happen when professionals come together to learn from, and celebrate, one another.
