Andrew Fitzsimons on Referencing the 1930s for Hailee Steinfeld’s ’26 Golden Globes Hair

01/11/2026

“Sinners” star Hailee Steinfeld just debuted a baby bump and a stunning throwback hairstyle by Andrew Fitzsimons at the 2026 Golden Globes.

Fitzsimons, the celebrity hairstylist and Bellami ambassador, achieved this stunning style using BELLAMI Silk Seam Clip-ins. He says, “The film ‘Sinners’ is set in 1932, when hair was typically very flat, short, and worn close to the head. I love the deep waves of the 1930s, but they were usually quite controlled and minimal. Hailee’s dress is so beautiful — very chic but also sexy — so I wanted to reference a 1930s wave while loosening it slightly.” He adds, “We kept [the hair] close to the head, but made it more relaxed with a deep side part.”

Keep scrolling for a detailed breakdown on Hailee Steinfeld’s red carpet hair directly from Fitzsimons himself.

Get the Look:

  1. To add volume, Fitzsimons blow dried Steinfeld’s hair using the GHD Duet Blow Dry Hairbrush and Andrew Fitzsimons Body Volume Blow Dry Spray
  2. Following, Fitzsimons installed BELLAMI Silk Seam Clip-Ins in Dark Honey Cocoa Highlight to add extra volume and dimension, a pregnancy safe way to add color to her hair without dyes.
  3. To curl Steinfeld’s hair, he used the GHD Chronos Curve 1” and curled it towards her face, section by section, and pinned it back into the curl to create a long-lasting curl.
  4. To set the hair, Fitzsimons sprayed a light layer of the Andrew Fitzsimons Touch Soft Hold Hairspray while the hair stayed in place for 5-10 minutes.
  5. For the finished look, the classic Hollywood wave, he unpinned the hair and coated a boar bristle brush with Andrew Fitzsimons Hard Strong Hold Hairspray and brushed her hair into an “S” wave.
