Touchable, glossy and full of movement: that was the goal for Clairo’s hair at the sixth annual Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles this past weekend. Celeb hairstylist and frequent collaborator Ericka Verrett created the look using Hairstory products, and we’re thrilled to include the full breakdown so you can recreate it at home — keep reading.
Get the Look:
- For smoothness and shine, mist Hairstory Primer Smoothing and Moisturizing Protection Mist throughout damp hair, focusing on the mid-lengths to ends. Comb through evenly to help smooth, moisturize, and protect the hair before styling.
- For flexible hold and gloss, mix Hairstory’s flexible frizz-control Styling Gel with a few drops of its nourishing Hair Oil in your palms. Work through the mid-lengths to ends to control frizz, enhance shine, and keep the hair soft. Blow-dry smooth.
- Using a one-inch curling iron, wrap sections of hair around the barrel starting at mid length, and loosely wrap through the ends, rolling everything towards the face to achieve loose waves.
- For movement and shine, when the hair has cooled, gently brush through the waves to soften them and create an effortless, flowy finish. The result is a sleek, smooth crown with soft, undone waves at the bottom; a modern take on 70’s hair, with beautiful shine and movement.
