Bella Hadid Debuted a New ‘Ethereal Blonde’ at Cannes — Here’s the Formula from Jacob Schwartz

05/21/2026

Bella Hadid is back to blonde for the 2026 Cannes Film Festival. The Palestinian- and Dutch-American supermodel is typically known for her rich brunette lengths and darker signature tone, so it’s always a thrill to see her lighten things up. This new, “Ethereal Blonde,” created by celebrity colorist Jacob Schwartz, Schwarzkopf Professional’s U.S. Hair Color Trend Ambassador, feels very different than before.

Schwartz exclusively tells The Tease, “Bella’s new blonde was all about creating something that felt effortless, expensive, and very reflective of the South of France during Cannes. We wanted the color to feel soft and sunlit rather than overly done, so I focused on building seamless ribbons of brightness throughout the hair using Schwarzkopf Professional Vario Super Plus, while preserving shine and dimension.”

He adds, “The finished look — what I’m calling ‘Ethereal Blonde’ — feels luminous, cinematic, and naturally lived-in, which is what makes it so modern for summer.” Read on for the exact formula, and products, Schwartz used.
